In our previous blog post, “Tips for Moving to the East Coast”, we touched on how to prepare for your cross-country move. As NYC’s top moving company, we’d like to continue to share some East Coast moving tips. But this time, we’re focusing in on what to expect when moving to the East Coast from the West Coast. Keep reading to learn more!
Who Says West is Best?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock (in which case— it’s time to move!), chances are you’ve heard the west-coast’s favorite expression: “West is best”. We’re willing to counteract the saying with a few well-known facts. Here are some things you can expect when moving to the east coast…
Bagels & Pizza to Die For
It’s true what they say about New York bagels and pizza—they really are that much better. Some say pizza and bagel quality has to do with what’s in our water— we say its heaven’s reward for being the better coast.
Mass-transit
Compared to the west coast, which is teeming with overpacked cars and traffic jams, the east coast offers a variety of mass transit options to your heart’s delight. Thanks to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, you can zip around the east coast’s railroads, subways, buses, bridges and tunnels while munching on a delicious slice of east coast pizza to your heart’s delight.
Four Spectacular Seasons
The seasons on the west coast have little variation. For the most part, west coast weather consists of long, dry summers featuring cool nights, and then rainy, mild winters. The east coast experiences all four glorious seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. If you’re moving to the east coast, spice up that west coast casual closet by adding some sleek, polished looks to your wardrobe! Plus, be sure to have clothes for all four seasons and plenty of layers for cold-weather wear.
