“Long distance relationships aren’t necessarily ideal, but sometimes they’re unavoidable,” Sharon said. “When Danny and I first met, I was working in Dallas, and he was here in NYC. Flights don’t cost that much, and we were on the phone with each other constantly.”
In the early days of their relationship, this arrangement worked for both Sharon and Danny. “It was a really valuable time where we devoted a lot of ourselves to getting to know each other,” Danny explained. “We talked for hours and hours. I feel like that’s when I really started falling in love on a very deep level.”
“Everything was going so well that I don’t even think I realized how hard I’d fallen for Danny until he got hurt.” One morning, Danny was involved in a car accident. “He texted me on his way to the hospital – literally from the ambulance – and my whole world changed,” Sharon explained. “FaceTime wasn’t going to cut it. I needed to be there.”
Sharon flew to New York. Thankfully, Danny was able to recover from his injuries fairly quickly. “Do I think it helped my healing to have the love of my life by my side?” he asked. “Yes, I do.”
A marriage proposal followed. “After I said yes, one of the first calls I made was to a full service long distance mover,” Sharon said. “I had a wedding to plan. There’s no way I could handle the logistics of a Dallas to Manhattan move on my own.”
