What You Need to Know About Moving During the COVID-19 Pandemic
You can slow New Yorkers down, but they never truly stop. As the reopening process continues, Shleppers is proudly providing the very best in residential and commercial moves. We’ve been following CDC recommendations since day one, which means we’ve been able to move families, businesses, and lots and lots of furniture.
Here’s what you need to know about the required precautions to keep you and your family safe during your upcoming move:
We Do Our Part
Daily monitoring of all movers’ health and well-being. Workers who have been exposed to or shown symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to stay home. This keeps our team & your family safe.
Mandated use of appropriate PPE. Movers will be wearing masks and gloves to protect themselves during your move. This is a required practice to safeguard everyone. If requested or if our site supervisor feels it necessary, movers will also wear booties & use Masonite floor guards.
Disinfection of trucks & surfaces. Our team has been trained to disinfect and sanitize trucks as well as high-contact surfaces. We bring all necessary cleaning and sanitization supplies with us to the move. These procedures are designed to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission from surfaces.
Social Distancing. Our crew will maintain appropriate social distancing whenever possible.
Customer Care. We want all of our customers to enjoy a safe, stress-free move. If you have any questions about how we’ll be conducting the move or if you have unique health concerns, a member of our team is always available to provide the answers.

Please Do Your Part
Wear Masks & Gloves. If you’re going to be present during your move, please wear masks & gloves to help protect our team. We appreciate your support in keeping everyone healthy.

Allow Movers to Wash Their Hands as needed. Frequent handwashing is the CDC’s top recommendation for preventing the spread of COVID-19.
If Weather Permits, Have the Windows Open. The goal is to have fresh air circulation freely.
Disinfect Commonly Touched Surface. Doorknobs, door jambs, handrails and other commonly touched surfaces can be wiped down with a disinfectant wipe.
Special Building Regulations. If your building has special regulations in place due to COVID-19, or other restrictions that impact parking, elevator usage, access to stairwells or anything else that could impact your move, let your Shleppers customer care representative know. We will coordinate with your building’s management to ensure the move stays simple and stress-free.
If a Member of Your Household Becomes Sick or Shows Signs of COVID-19
Please reach out to your Shleppers Customer Care representative immediately. We will work with you to reschedule your move when it’s safe for everybody.

Virtual Estimates
Use Facetime, WhatsApp or Zoom to walk a member of your Shleppers team through your home, showing them what needs to be moved. They’ll ask questions and gather information throughout the process, and use this to provide you with a moving quote – without ever once stepping foot in your home. No Contact Moves
We get some vital information from you – floor plans, special instructions, and so on – before the move, so you don’t have to be there when the heavy lifting gets done.
