Move to Lincoln Square, NYC: Easy to Fall For, Hard to Leave

Beginning at Columbus Circle and cutting off at 72nd Street and spanning from Central Park West to the Hudson River, lies Lincoln Square: the home base of NYC’s fine culture and entertainment.

If you’re a new resident to this area, you may have noticed the astounding residential properties with unparalleled views of the magnificent Hudson River or Central Park. You may be reaping the benefits of living only steps away from the world’s chief presenter of artistic programs. You may even be relaxing in the exemplary pre-war particulars or dining in your Art Deco styled residency as you read this.

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts

Perhaps the most well-known gem of the neighborhood is the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts; a 16.3-acre complex playing host to the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Ballet and the New York City Opera. The Lincoln Center’s founder John D. Rockefeller was clear that the arts are, “not for the privileged few, but for the many.”

One of the most renowned dance companies in the world, the New York City Ballet was founded in 1948 but George Balanchine and Lincoln Kirstein. The Company was later joined by Jerome Robbins and helped to create the dazzling production and definitively inaugurate the Company in NYC. In 1964, the New York City Ballet settled home at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theatre and today is on stage 21 weeks a year. You may have heard of The Nutcracker– which is performed by the Company every December since its premiere in 1954.

The revered American Ballet Theatre performs at the Metropolitan Opera House, which is also the home to the most celebrated artists in opera with over 200 performances a season. Spring season begins May 14, which is perfect timing to gift Mom with tickets to a performance for Mother’s Day!

Shleppers made our move pain free and easy. Everyone was a pleasure to deal with. We had to remove a piece of furniture 2 days before the move, and they made it hassle-free. I would definitely use them again!”
