It’s Saint Patrick’s Day and we’re celebrating all things Irish. There are strong Irish-American communities in New York City and in Massachusetts, so we’re going to share tips for moving from NYC to MA today.
Tip One: Drink Deeply – But Not Green Beer!
It’s very important to stay hydrated on moving day. Carrying boxes and lifting furniture is heavy physical work. Make sure you have plenty to drink. Water and sports drinks are good choices. Don’t drink alcohol during your move – whether you’re having green beer or the finest Irish whiskey, it’s better to enjoy it after all the jobs requiring coordination are done.
Tip Two: The Top of the Morning – May Not Be the Right Time to Move
Moving out of New York City can be challenging. Depending on what neighborhood you live in and local traffic patterns, the best time to move out of your place may not be first thing in the morning. Also important to know: You can schedule your move to work with your personal and professional needs.
Tip Three: When Irish Eyes are Smiling – There Might Be a Parade Going On!
Parades and community events are lots of fun, but if they’re happening on a street that’s on your moving route it’s a problem. When you’re planning your move from New York to Massachusetts, check to make sure there’s nothing happening along the way that would impact your moving day timeline.
Tip Four: Leprechauns are Hard to Find – And So Are Your Friends on Moving Day
Sometimes the people who say they’re going to help you move don’t actually help you move. This is true even if you’ve helped them move – multiple times – or if they owe you a favor: when it’s time to load up the moving truck, they’re just not there. Don’t depend on the luck of the Irish. Make sure your move happens when and how it’s supposed to by working with professional NYC movers.
